Ingredients
Scale
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup long grain white rice, uncooked
1 3/4 cups low sodium chicken broth
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon chicken bouillon base or powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/8 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
Combine the butter and olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Allow the butter to melt completely.
Add the uncooked long grain white rice to the saucepan. Stir constantly for 3 to 4 minutes until the edges of the rice grains look slightly translucent. This toasts the rice for better texture.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, salt, chicken bouillon base, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, smoked paprika, and dried parsley.
Pour the seasoned liquid mixture over the toasted rice in the saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once boiling, immediately reduce the heat to the lowest setting, cover the saucepan tightly with a lid, and simmer for 15 minutes without lifting the lid. Do not stir during this time.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it stand, covered, for an additional 10 minutes. This allows the rice to steam and become fluffy.
Remove the lid and fluff the Texas Roadhouse Seasoned Rice gently with a fork before serving.
Notes
For a rice cooker method, combine all ingredients in the cooker pot and use the white rice setting. Let it rest for 10 minutes after the cycle finishes before fluffing.
If you do not have chicken bouillon base, substitute with 1/2 teaspoon of poultry seasoning for flavor.
This seasoned rice pairs perfectly with steak, grilled chicken, or seafood dishes.
