You can make this juicy pork tenderloin recipe quickly in the oven. It features a simple spice rub and a sweet, savory honey garlic sauce that makes the pork moist and flavorful for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (about 1.5 lb) pork tenderloin
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Pat the pork tenderloin dry with paper towels. This helps create a better sear and crust.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to create the spice rub. Rub this mixture evenly over the entire surface of the pork tenderloin.
  4. Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork tenderloin on all sides until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. This step builds flavor.
  5. While the pork sears, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, water, rice vinegar, and minced garlic in a separate small bowl to make the glaze.
  6. Pour half of the honey garlic glaze over the seared pork tenderloin in the skillet.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Roast for 15 to 20 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 145°F (63°C). Cooking time depends on the thickness of your tenderloin.
  8. Remove the pork from the oven and brush with the remaining glaze.
  9. Let the pork tenderloin rest on a cutting board for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing against the grain. This resting period keeps the pork tender and moist.
  10. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For an even quicker meal, skip the searing step and simply place the seasoned pork directly into the oven. Adjust the cooking time slightly if you skip the sear.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can simmer the remaining glaze in a small saucepan on the stovetop until it reduces slightly, then drizzle it over the sliced pork.
  • This recipe works well with a simple spice rub if you want to skip the glaze for a healthier option.
