Make this creamy, cheesy garlic parmesan chicken bake for a simple weeknight dinner. It uses simple ingredients and bakes right in the oven.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (if using breadcrumbs)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, and chicken broth until smooth. This creates your creamy garlic chicken sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken breasts.
  5. If you want a crispy topping, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the sauce.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit and the sauce is bubbly.
  7. Let the cheesy garlic parmesan chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a low carb chicken bake, skip the breadcrumbs.
  • This recipe works well with chicken thighs if you prefer dark meat.
  • You can add a sprinkle of dried parsley over the top before serving for color.
