Make tender, juicy steak bites effortlessly in your slow cooker. This simple crockpot steak recipe uses a savory garlic butter sauce, perfect for a weeknight dinner served over mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed sirloin steak into your slow cooker. Sprinkle evenly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss gently to coat the meat.
  2. Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the steak cubes.
  3. Arrange the pieces of butter evenly over the top of the steak. Add the minced garlic.
  4. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours, or on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours, until the steak is very tender.
  5. Once cooked, stir the steak gently to incorporate the melted butter and juices, creating a simple garlic butter sauce.
  6. Serve the crockpot steak bites immediately over mashed potatoes or rice. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sear the steak cubes in a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes per side before adding them to the slow cooker.
  • This recipe works well with other cuts like chuck roast or skirt steak if you prefer a heartier texture.
  • If you want a thicker sauce, remove the steak toward the end of cooking and mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water. Stir this slurry into the liquid remaining in the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
