Make tender, juicy steak bites with minimal effort using your slow cooker. This recipe uses simple ingredients to create a flavorful, hands-off dinner perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed sirloin steak into the basin of your slow cooker.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the steak cubes in the slow cooker. Stir gently to coat the meat evenly.
  4. Place the pieces of butter on top of the steak mixture. Do not stir the butter in.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours or on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours, until the steak is very tender.
  6. Remove the lid and stir the melted butter into the sauce to create a light glaze.
  7. Serve the crockpot steak bites immediately over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

Notes

  • For an extra savory flavor, you can substitute the beef broth with one packet of dry onion soup mix dissolved in the broth.
  • If you want a thicker sauce, remove the steak near the end of cooking and mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water. Stir this slurry into the liquid in the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 15 minutes until thickened.
  • This recipe works well with sirloin or top round steak for the best texture.
